Once again, we are delighted to be supporting Funding Neuro, a local charity supporting research for neurological conditions.

About Funding Neuro

Pioneering Treatments, Accelerating Cures, Saving Lives. Wobbly Williams was established when Bryn Williams (IP lawyer in Glasgow) was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s at aged 36. Bryn wanted to raise money to find a cure for Parkinson’s, but to incorporate humour and hope into awareness raising and fundraising, to make something positive come from such a devastating condition.

As the charity progressed and funded research into a delivery system that was key to the GDNF trial for Parkinson’s it became apparent that the system could also have a significant, positive impact for other neurological conditions, including Brain Tumours, Alzheimer’s and MS etc.

Funding Neuro’s vision is to provide the means for accessible, fast and effective prevention and treatment for brain related disorders. Our Mission is to advance treatments and cures of brain related conditions and diseases through technology. Our focus for 2014/2015 is delivery of chemotherapy to children with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) brain tumours.Using revolutionary technology developed by Professor Steven Gill (which is already being used in the GDNF trial), the trial’s objective is to deliver chemotherapy to the tumour whilst protecting the healthy cells, and to deliver stronger doses than can be taken orally to destroy the tumour.

Funding Neuro are urgently raising the £250,000 required to accelerate drug developed and to advance the research that professionals strongly believe will make the difference.
